How to care for your cutting board
We treat cutting boards with vegetable oils, waxes, and paints.
These materials are natural for surface treatment.
- All paints, oils, and waxes are made from 100% natural raw materials.
- They are produced using environmentally friendly technology.
- They do not contain harmful solvents.
- They form a perfectly breathable coating.
Oiling and waxing are classic methods of natural wood treatment.
They represent the most beautiful, durable, and natural solution for wood surface treatment. They preserve and highlight the natural beauty of the wood, forming a soft, pleasant coating that is velvety to the touch.
The oil-wax surface consists of two layers.
The oil:
- penetrates deeply into the wood, saturating its fibers
- hardens the wood
- provides good adhesion for the wax
- saturates and impregnates the wood surface.
The wax:
- is water-repellent
- protects the oiled surface from moisture
- provides a silky sheen and velvety touch
- cares for and enhances the wood.
Oil-wax treatment brightens and enlivens the colors of the surface.
The surface treatment materials we use are made exclusively from natural renewable raw materials and comply with the strictest health and environmental regulations.
All our products are treated with oils and waxes suitable for objects that come into contact with food.
The oils and waxes we use comply with standards. DIN EN 71/3 (for surface treatment of children's toys) and DIN 53160 (saliva and sweat resistant coatings) ensure that no harmful substances leach out.
To make your cutting board and serving trays as durable as possible, re-oil the surface periodically (every 1-2 months) if you can.
