Baráthegyi Manufaktúra - Let's eat good and do good with it!

For 20 years, the Symbiosis Foundation has been supporting the integration and improvement of the quality of life of people with altered work ability, disabilities, and autism. Currently, they provide assistance to 400 families in the framework of day care, special transportation, housing, employment, therapies and temporary relief for families.  

On the outskirts of Miskolc, on a picturesque hillside, lies the Friend Mountain: here, on an area of about 5 hectares, the foundation operates a Majority of Báráthegyi, that is the country's only social farm providing complex services, which forms the basis of their social enterprise.

In the majors workers about 85% are disabled, or an employee with altered working capacity: colleagues living with autism, intellectual disabilities, deaf and hard of hearing, visually impaired, mobility impaired, or other health impairments.

There are those who take part in plant cultivation, take care of fruit trees, and are busy in the jam making plant, but it is also possible to deal with animal husbandry, as there are donkeys, horses, and goats on the farm in addition to their two alpacas. 

The farm is also an important location for integration, since the visiting school children work together with young people with disabilities, who teach them the various work processes. 

A There is always something going on in Baráthegyi Kincsestár's farm: lavender goat soap, a notebook decorated with the napkin technique, made of woven paper, briquettes, syrup or jam, which can also be found in the Impact Box gift packages. The raw materials of the products are vegetables and fruits produced in Majorság.
